A little history, the use of tiny/micro writing goes back at least 4000 years and Mesopotamia where they created small clay tablets known as Cuneiform Tablets and on which were hand-etched tiny hieroglyphics. Since those times the use of this form of communication spread widely throughout the Middle East, it wasn't long before the technique caught the interest of the artists of this world with examples to be found in various religions including Hebrew, Muslim, Catholic and Pagan.
Our local artist Gordon from the Sunshine Coast Hinterland has taken up the examples set by others and now is a full-time word artist with his works finding their way into homes and studios throughout the world. Indeed Andre Rieu is the owner of Gordon's original work of 'Willow's Violin', a piece that incorporates the names of 122 violin makers woven into the shape of his daughter's prized instrument.
